I have been tutoring English Second Language Speakers for 5+years, resulting in many successes from my students, including passing a KS3 level entrance exam, achieving a top mark in an English Oral Assessment, and successfully achieving offers from UK top Universities. My philosophy is that it is paramount that a teacher listen to their student, their goals, their learning style and how they respond to teaching. It is only then that a tutor may most effectively support a student in the attainment of their learning goals. I am a big believer in practical over theoretical learning. I believe the most effective way to learn a language is not by studying perfectly from afar, but to use it, even if imperfectly. That is the methodology that leads by teaching.

My teaching style is very much student-led, with the goals, methodology and intensity being shaped by the student. I believe this is the best way to ensure that I, as a tutor, can most accurately support a student in the attainment of their learning goals. I am a big believer in practical learning over theoretical. For example, I will engage students in hypothetical situations to practice their spoken English.
I seek to challenge my students in a judgment-free learning environment so that they feel empowered to grow and develop their abilities, knowing that it is okay to get things wrong to begin with.
