Hello! My name is Catherine, and I am a passionate and dedicated English teacher from South Africa.
With over 12 years of teaching experience and a TEFL certificate, I have had the privilege of helping both children and adults grow in confidence and improve their English skills. Teaching is not just my profession — it is truly my passion. I believe learning English should be engaging, supportive, and enjoyable.
I have extensive experience working with young learners, including children who are still developing their speaking skills. As the founder of a kids’ daycare center, I understand the importance of patience, encouragement, and creating a positive learning environment. My lessons for children are interactive, fun, and designed to build confidence step by step.
For adult students, I focus on practical communication, pronunciation improvement, grammar accuracy, and building fluency through meaningful conversations. I aim to create a comfortable space where you feel confident expressing yourself and asking questions.
In addition to my teaching background, I studied Financial Management at the University of South Africa, which has strengthened my organizational and communication skills. I also enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures — experiences that help me connect with students from around the world.

With 12 years of teaching experience and a TEFL certificate, I am committed to helping students achieve their English learning goals in a structured, supportive, and engaging environment.
Teaching Skills and Methods
I use a student-centered approach that focuses on communication, confidence-building, and practical language use. My methods include interactive activities, guided conversations, pronunciation practice, vocabulary development, grammar support, and task-based learning. I adapt lessons to each student’s learning pace and goals, ensuring steady and measurable progress.
Course Flow
Each lesson begins with a short review of previous material, followed by the introduction of new content. We then practice through structured activities such as speaking exercises, role-plays, reading tasks, or listening practice. The lesson ends with feedback, correction, and a summary of key learning points. Homework or additional practice may be provided when necessary.
Teaching Style and Characteristics
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and interactive. I create a comfortable space where students feel confident speaking and making mistakes as part of the learning process. I believe consistency, positive reinforcement, and clear explanations are key to language improvement.
Target Audience
I teach both children and adults.
For young learners, especially those still developing basic speaking skills, I use engaging activities, repetition, visual aids, and simple conversations to build vocabulary and confidence.
For adults, lessons focus on conversation, pronunciation improvement, grammar accuracy, and practical communication skills for work or daily life.
